1. Be prepared!
When choosing a hot yoga class to sign up for, you should always pick a class level that you feel comfortable with. Most classes can be adjusted according to skill level, so don’t push yourself to do something you may not be comfortable with!
Also, you should bring a towel and a water bottle with you to each class. Staying hydrated is key since you will be sweating a lot in our temperature-controlled rooms. Yoga mats will be provided, but you can also bring your own if you’d like.
2. Listen to your body
It’s totally normal to take it slow as a beginner to hot yoga. Even if you’ve done regular yoga before, hot yoga adds a new element of heat that can make it difficult to adjust to. Anytime you think you may need to take a break during the class, child’s pose is always an option. It’s better to rest and relax than overdo it during your classes.
